Why is it such a difficult thing to do?
Prov 16:18
Some are going to ride their pride all the way to hell – Isa. 2:12; Matt. 23:12

3. Loving Men’s Praise More Than God’s - Jn 12:42-43
Everyone has, to some degree, an ego problem
Loving praise keeps some from doing what is necessary – Gal. 1:10
Perhaps we need to praise more in some areas but never as means to end
We are tempted to please those who inflate our ego - Jude 16
We all like to receive praise
We have a job to fulfill (speak as the Lord speaks)
Must not regard for the feelings or favor of men when it comes to speaking the TRUTH

4. Worldliness - 1 Jn 2:15-16
Vast difference in loving the souls of men in the world and being in love with the world - Jude 21-23
Often worldliness gets into Christians and they end up losing their soul - 2 Tim 4:10
There is a REAL PROBLEM of worldliness in our lives when:
We go to parties and drink socially in order to get along or move ahead - Jn 12:42-43
The church becomes simply a crutch to soothe our conscience - Matt 15:8
We re-arrange our priorities and the church no longer comes first - Matt 6:33
We miss services for ball games, vacation, and company ---- something we want to do
Neither should we become a part of this world
Have to live here in this world - Jn 17:15-16
Cannot become a hermit
Worldliness affects many more of us than we would like to admit
Like the ship that becomes filled with water will sink, so will we when we become worldly

5. Lack Of Respect For Bible Authority - Jn 8:31-32
If don’t care are in real trouble – Judg. 2:10; 21:25
Knowledge & obedience only things that will save – Jas. 1:21; Rom. 1:16
Only way to heaven is God’s way – Prov. 14:12
Must study to know & live that way – Hos. 4:6; 2 Tim. 2:15

GOD'S PART
The great love of God for man (Jn 3:16)
He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Savior (Lk 19:10)
Sent the Holy Spirit as a guide (Jn 16:13)
Gave the Gospel as "the power" unto salvation (Rom 1:16)
Provided atonement by the blood of Christ (Rom 5:9)
MAN'S PART
Hear the Gospel (Rom 10:17, Jn 8:32)
Believe the Gospel (Heb 11:6, Jn 20:31)
Repent of past sins (Lk 13:3, Acts 17:30)
Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Rom 10:10, Matt 10:32)
Be Baptized (Gal 3:27, Mk 16:16, Acts 2:38)
Be faithful unto death (Rev 2:10)
