Death And The Physical Body
At the time of conception, God put our spirits in our bodies - Numbers 27:16; Ecclesiastes 3:21, 12:6-7; Zechariah 12:1; Hebrews 12:9 Death does not end the existence of the body, but it does terminate the life of the body - Genesis 3:19; Ecclesiastes 12:7 Death is a result of sin We cannot have both at the same time - Philippians 1:20 We're talking about Physical life - Acts 17:25 We're talking about Physical death - Matthew 20:18

Death And The Soul And Spirit
Do the soul and the spirit die with the body dies? - Matthew 10:28 The soul and spirit leave the body at death We conclude at death the body dies but the soul and spirit do not! The rich fool was told - Luke 12:20 When Jesus died - Luke 23:46 The soul of the widow's son returned when he was brought back to life - 1 Kings 17:21-22 Rachel's soul did not die with her body - Genesis 35:18 Jesus' soul was not buried with His body - Psalms 16:8-11; Acts 2:29-31

Death And The Assurance Of Life
Assurance of life after death is importance to us Assurance comes from the O.T. -Deuteronomy 32:39; Psalms 17:15; Ecclesiastes 12:7; Isaiah 26:19 Assurance comes from the N.T. We should have a greater understanding and appreciation for life after death - 2 Timothy 1:10 Eternal life is one of the major themes of Jesus' teaching - John 6:54, 6:28, 6:25, 6:2-3 The resurrection of Jesus gives us proof of life after death John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:20-22

Conclusion: We know that when we experience the event called death, we will not walk into extinction, but into life. When we pass through death's door, the soul and spirit depart for the body and the hadean realm. The body returns to the ground from whence it came. Beyond Death's Door there is life! God's Plan of Salvation GOD'S PART The great love of God for man (Jn 3:16) He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Savior (Lk 19:10) Sent the Holy Spirit as a guide (Jn 16:13) Gave the Gospel as "the power" unto salvation (Rom 1:16) Provided atonement by the blood of Christ (Rom 5:9) MAN'S PART Hear the Gospel (Rom 10:17, Jn 8:32) Believe the Gospel (Heb 11:6, Jn 20:31) Repent of past sins (Lk 13:3, Acts 17:30) Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Rom 10:10, Matt 10:32) Be Baptized (Gal 3:27, Mk 16:16, Acts 2:38) Be faithful unto death (Rev 2:10) God has done His part. Have you done yours?
