Get your journal from the back the crate– Let’s reacquaint ourselves with the journal rules Only write on one side of the paper Never tear out the journal pages Number the pages as you go Always write the date and the focus at the top of the page Use a separate page for each day Write a sentence for each of the following items to explain why it is important for a narrative or story: Characters: (Characters are important in a story because… Setting: ( The setting …) Exposition Rising action Climax Falling action Resolution Conflict theme Dialogue Hook Figurative language

Let’s read the directions aloud Take out your notes from “Voices in the Park” Take out a piece of paper Review the differences between perspective and point of view.

Read the tale aloud with today’s partner 2. Follow the instructions. First, use one piece of paper for the perspective and rewrite the tale together. Then, use the other paper for the point of view and rewrite the tale together You will be working with the person beside you in the same color group Example: orange 1 & 2 Orange 3 and 4 2. One person come to pick the tale
