4. Does MSDIS look the same? In some respects - but…
MSDIS and other hosted web services are faster…
Storage space has increased substantially
Servers maintained 24-7 – contracted to UMC IATS – 3 year plan for replacement
Complete mirror site in KU, Lawrence
No more MSDIS-Web – now –
Multiple services reside on a single server

5. MODAL – Missouri Data and Locations - Mapping Grade GPS unit loan program to collect local data in the public domain …
Available now…
Available to all on a scheduled basis…
Training program will eventually be developed…
Expected that data layers collected will be made available for MSDIS to serve in the public domain – explicit in signing the equipment sign-out sheet.

Serving as a backup resource for local data… Many Lgovs don’t have the funds - nor staff - to provide data redundancy.
Outreach
Improving geospatial expertise statewide
Providing training on a wider range of subjects
Sponsoring or supporting geospatial workshops such as this one
