1 English Religious Education Maths Character Curriculum Daily Mile STEM
We start the term by finishing off our non-fiction writing based on the book ‘Lost & Found’. By the end of the learning journey we will have written a non-chronological report about an interesting animal. Our second book this half term is a story called “Fatou Fetch the Water”. The children will be adapting the original story to create their own version. We will be looking at using a variety of punctuation within our stories and using interesting adjectives and conjunctions to improve our sentence further. Religious Education This half term we continue to compare Christianity to the Jewish Faith. Our big question is “What is the Shabbat and why is it important to Jews?” We will be thinking about special days in our own lives and how this is different for Jews. Maths We start by learning about positional language and turning objects, a whole, half and quarter turn. We then move onto to place value to 100, where we will consolidate our understanding of partitioning, comparing and ordering numbers and using a 100 grid to aid our counting. At the end of the term we will be looking at using the language needed to talk about money and time as well as drawing hands to show time on a clock and adding small amounts of money.
