4 Digital Learning We will be using a program called Moby Max.
This program will provide challenge at all ability levels. It is research based and provides differentiation

5 Snack We eat lunch at 11:15. Students may bring a neat, healthy snack to munch on. Sharing of snacks is not permitted. K-2nd are nut free classrooms! Fruits, vegetables, and gummies/fruit roll-ups

6 Spelling/Homework Spelling consists of 15 words which are based around a common spelling pattern. Spelling and math homework will be assigned every Monday. Reading log should be signed each night. Extra Dojo point for weekend reading.

7 Everyday Math Taught for complete mastery Hands on activities
Activity and game based Hard to make up – please be here! Very challenging Appropriate for all levels of learning FUN! Your children like it. Homework is an extension of in-class activity

8 Wonders Reading Multiple stories are taught per week. These stores will be of varied genres. Reading is taught in whole group, small group, and individual setting. Reading centers are used to differentiate and provide students with greater independence and personalized instruction. Language Arts assessments are given at the end of each week. These include: vocabulary, comprehension, and grammar.

9 This is your opportunity to encourage and influence your child.
READ Every Night If your child views reading as an important part of daily life they will become a reader for life. This is your opportunity to encourage and influence your child. DON’T MISS IT!

11 WRITING Wonders writing workshop will be used. We will write each day
WRITING Wonders writing workshop will be used. We will write each day. There will always be a purpose for writing. Writing will be modeled, practiced, and revised.

12 Accelerated Reader/Math Facts in a Flash
Students have many opportunities to read library books/Epic! online AR books. Tests can be taken beginning at 7:45 and throughout the day as work is finished. Math Facts in a Flash may be completed each day. Second Grade – LEVEL 33 (Multiplication 6-10 and Review) Children will earn tickets at the end of each week as incentive.

13 Homework Homework will be assigned each Monday
Either help your child with homework or check their completed homework Nightly reading is extremely important

14 Report Cards E – Exceeding Standard M– Meeting Standard
Performing well above what is typically expected of a 2nd grader; understands the standard above the current grade level. M– Meeting Standard Student has completely mastered the skill, works independently. DV- Developing Standard Student is working to gain mastery of the standard; completes work first with support and guidance from teacher, then independently. AC – Area of Concern Student is having trouble with the concept even after reteaching and additional practice at school. NE– Not Evaluated We haven’t worked on this skill yet, but we will work on it at a later in the year. Parent Teacher conferences are in November (or sooner if there is a need!) Grades may fluctuate throughout the year on any given skill, this is normal!

16 Class Dojo will be used to monitor behavior.
Conduct Class Dojo will be used to monitor behavior. Good behavior/homework is rewarded with a positive point. 3 points in a day equals a Mustang Dollar Bill. Students will be randomly selected throughout the day to receive points. Whole group points can also be assigned. Students will be required to complete homework and have their reading log signed to receive a homework point. If I notice negative behavior trends I will contact parent/guardian.

18 Attendance All absences require a note for the office.
Please send the note the day your child returns to school. Work cannot be given out in advance of “vacation” days. This is school policy.

19 PTO/Santa House Can you volunteer? 1 shift per family
