5 What can affect your grade classification?
Failing Grades Attendance A student must be in attendance 90% of the time in each class. For each semester, a student with over 9 days absences in any course/period, the student will lose credit for the course even if they are passing.

English Language Arts 4 credits in: English I English II English III English IV (*Public Speaking, *Speech, Journ, Newspaper, Yrkb) Mathematics Algebra I Geometry (pre-requisite Alg. 1) MMA/Alg Reasoning or Alg 2 Alg 2 or Pre-Calculus (*AP Calculus AB, *AP Calculus BC or *AP Statistics) Science Biology IPC or Chemistry Chemistry or Physics 4th Science (*AP Chem, *AP Physics, *AP Bio, *AP Env Sci, etc.) Social Studies World Geography World History U.S. History Government/Economics (*AP Europ Hist, *Psychology, *Sociology, *Pers Fin Lit) Hb 5 foundation curriculum PLEASE NOTE: **Every year a student is in high school they are required to take an English, math, science and social studies, therefore if you’re ahead in these subjects, you will be required to take additional courses in your final years of HS. All core classes including those with an asterisk(*) count towards rank.

All core courses and some electives have different level to choose from: CP – College Prep Pre-AP – Pre-Advanced Placement AP – Advanced Placement D – Dual Enrollment

12 Dual enrollment opportunities
Prospective students must: Demonstrate college readiness as indicated by the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) or other approved testing instruments Meet entrance requirements for the college/university Understand the final dual grade will be reflected on both high school and college transcript Understand courses taken off campus for dual credit will be counted for ranking purposes (fall & spring only) Understand all university deadlines and procedures must be followed as they are considered college students Seek guidance from high school counselor
