ATA 05 PERIODIC INSPECTIONS

10 GENERAL This chapter includes these sections: 05-20-00 : Scheduled Maintenance Checks 05-50-00 : Unscheduled Maintenance Checks Scheduled Maintenance Checks This section includes all zonal inspections, done on aircraft. Unscheduled Maintenance Checks This section includes the maintenance inspections done on aircraft, when a flight crew reports unusual flight conditions.

ATA 06 DIMENSIONS AND AREAS

12 GENERAL This Chapter includes those charts, diagrams, and text which show the area, dimensions, stations, access doors / zoning and physical locations, of the major structural members of the aircraft. Includes an explanation of the system of zoning and measurement used and includes these sections: (A) Dimensions and Areas (B) Stations (C) Access

ATA 07 LIFTING AND SHORING

ATA 08 LEVELING AND WEIGHING

15 GENERAL Leveling and weighing operations are done to determine the airplane center of gravity and weight. Airplane leveling done for weighing operations, as well as for wheel line-up, fuel quantity indicating system calibration procedures and structural inspections.

ATA 09 TOWING AND TAXIING

General Towing - The movement of aircraft on ground with external force i.e. tow tractor Taxiing - The movement of aircraft with one or both engines running on ground. Towing

ATA 10 PARKING, MOORING, STORAGE AND RETURN TO SERVICE

19 General The airplane parked and moored on a paved and level area with ground tie-down anchors available. When parking or mooring the airplane, the local weather forecast consulted to carry out the proper procedures aimed at safety of the airplane, including other aircraft parked nearby. Types Short term storage - applicable to periods extending from 7 to 60 days. Long term storage - applicable to periods in excess of 60 days.

ATA 11 PLACARDS AND MARKINGS

21 General This includes all the placards, markings, decals and paintings which provide Types Exterior Interior

ATA 12 SERVICING - ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

23 GENERAL This chapter covers aircraft servicing Servicing-General Ground Handling -Aircraft Fueling -Aircraft Doors- Opening and Closing -Cold Weather Operations -Cleaning Cold Weather Maintenance-Aircraft Protection

ATA 20 STANDARD PRACTICES - AIRFRAME

General This chapter includes procedures, practices and methods which are not covered in other chapters of the Maintenance Manual. It also gives the list of materials necessary for servicing and Maintenance operations It provides the procedures for utilizing the hardware used throughout the airplane, torque application, standard torque tables, typical lockwirings, typical removal /installation of components, inspections, connection of the external electrical power source, and grounding connections of the airplane.

Deals with Wirelocking Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive Devices Circuit Breakers Maintenance in Storm Conditions Standard Torques Lines Electrical Bonding List of Materials for Aircraft Service and Maintenance

27 ATA 21 AIR CONDITIONING

GENERAL The air conditioning system provides required values of pressure, temperature and freshness of the air in the pressurized fuselage for passengers and crew..

29 ATA 22 AUTO FLIGHT CONTROL

General The Automatic Flight System (AFS): Increases flight safety Reduce flight crew workload through automatic control of aircraft trajectory and engine thrust Optimizes the fuel consumption.

31 ATA 23 COMMUNICATIONS

Communication Communications connect the flight deck to the ground, and the flight deck to the passengers It involves voice transmission and reception between Aircraft or Aircraft and Ground Stations Radio communication systems for Aircraft are for purpose of air traffic control Commercial aircraft also utilize a range of high frequency for communicating with ground stations and other aircraft for business and operational purposes.

33 ATA 24 AIRCRAFT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

34 General The function of the aircraft electrical system is to generate, regulate and distribute electrical power throughout the aircraft New-generation aircraft fully rely on electrical power due to wide use of electronic flight instrument systems.

35 ATA 25 EQUIPMENT/FURNISHINGS

36 Cockpit Passenger Compartments Linings and furnishings Cabin Seats Galleys Lavatories Emergency Equipment. Deals with

37 ATA 26 FIRE PROTECTION

General Detection systems are installed to detect fire and overheat in: Wing and body landing gear bays Engine fire zones Auxiliary power unit fire area Avionics compartment Cargo compartments Lavatories Cabin sub-compartments.

39 ATA 27 FLIGHT CONTROLS

General Primary flight controls Trim High Lifting Devices

ATA 28 FUEL

42 General The fuel system: Keeps fuel in the main fuel tanks and the trim tank, and maintain air pressure within the fuel tanks near to the external ambient air. Controls and supplies fuel in the correct quantities to the fuel tanks during refuel operations Supplies fuel to the APU Makes it possible to jettison some of the aircraft fuel in flight Gives indications in the cockpit of the usual system operations Gives indications in the cockpit of a malfunction in the system that could cause an unusual condition.

ATA 29 HYDRAULIC POWER

General 44 Efficiently transfer the mechanical power to several locations in aircraft Hydraulic systems take engine power and convert it to hydraulic power by a hydraulic pump. This power is distributed throughout the airplane by tubes that runs through the aircraft.

45 ATA 30 ICE AND RAIN PROTECTION

46 ATA 31 INDICATING / RECORDING SYSTEMS

47 ATA 32 LANDING GEAR

48 ATA 33 LIGHTS

49 The Airplane lighting system provides the following functions: For External Lighting For Interior Lighting.

50 ATA 34 NAVIGATION

General The navigation systems provide the crew with the data required to fly in compliance with the applicable safety requirements. These systems can be divided into six groups: - Air Data/Inertial Reference System - Standby Navigation Systems - Landing and Taxiing Aids - Independent Position Determining - Dependent Position Determining - Aircraft Surveillance System.

52 ATA 35 OXYGEN

53 ATA 38 WATER WASTE

54 ATA 44 CABIN SYSTEMS

The Cabin Systems permit communication inside and outside the aircraft, between crew members and to the ground crew This provide air-to-ground communication, the In-Flight Entertainment System (IFE) and the Cabin Monitoring System (CMS) Some Galley Systems and a Mass Memory System are included. General

56 ATA 46 INFORMATION SYSTEMS

57 FUNCTION T he Information systems enhance flight, cabin and maintenance operation, and supply services for passengers. These systems include: The Network Server System (NSS) The Onboard Information System (OIS), hosted on the NSS The Air Traffic Control (ATC) system
