Reading Journals Children have daily reading time in class, please ensure that their reading folder comes into school every day. Please be aware that your journals may not be checked every day by the class teacher, so if you have any questions or concerns please mention this to the class teacher at the door in the morning. Please read with your child every night, as this is hugely important to the learning journey. Your child will bring home books they have selected from their reading level each week. They are welcome to change them as soon as the books have been read with an adult and their reading journal has been signed. Please help your child to : Sound out words Use punctuation when they read Encourage them to read with expression and appropriate pace (using speech marks, exclamation marks and question marks) Understand what they are reading by discussing what they have read Alexandra Primary School
