WIDA Assessments The WIDA Screener is an English language proficiency assessment given to incoming students in Grades 1-12 to assist educators with the identification of students as English language learners (ELLs). The purpose of this assessment is to help educators make decisions about whether a student is a candidate for English language support services. ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 is a secure large-scale English language proficiency assessment administered to Kindergarten through 12th grade students who have been identified as English language learners (ELLs). It is given annually in WIDA Consortium member states to monitor students' progress in acquiring academic English. ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 is only available to Consortium member states. ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 is aligned with the WIDA English Language Development Standards and assesses each of the four language domains of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing

How do these assessments measure my child’s progress?
MAP Growth reveals how much growth has occurred between testing events and, when combined with the norms, shows projected proficiency. Educators can track growth through the school year and over multiple years. End-of Course or Grade Tests provide a conversion to a letter grade. The grade lets parents and teachers know how much of the content the student has mastered for the class. WIDA Assessment is an English language proficiency assessment given to incoming students in Grades 1-12 to assist educators with the identification of students as English language learners (ELLs). The purpose of this assessment is to help educators make decisions about whether a student is a candidate for English language support services.
17
What proficiency is my child expected to meet?
MAP test-your child is not required to meet a particular proficiency. This test measures what your child’s current level of knowledge is in ELA and Math. It lets teachers know what they are ready to learn.
