2 Area of focus: Copy questions. When we are finished answer them.
What is Ionic Bonding? Explain how it happens? What is Covalent Bonding? Explain how it happens? What is Metalic Bonding? Explain how it happens?

3 Chemical bonds: the attraction that holds atoms together as a result of rearranging their electrons.
Atoms try to have 8 valence electrons (or 2 for H and He), so they will either increase their number or decrease it to get closer to 8. This makes them chemically bonded to other atoms. Copyright © 2010 Ryan P. Murphy

23 Most metal atoms bond with other types of metal to form alloys- a mixture of two or more metals.
Metal atoms lose their valence electrons and become positively charged ions. The free electrons float around the atoms in a “sea of electrons”. The electrons are attracted to the positively charged atoms. The” sea of electrons” can explain the malleability, luster, high electrical conductivity, and high thermal conductivity of metals.
