MOTIVATION RESILIENCE: OPTION OR OBLIGATION?
JULY 2014 From birth we are already undergoing changes. We went from a totally controlled and safe environment, and in a blink of an eye, there comes the first slap and with it perhaps the biggest shock of our lifetime. Thankfully, our memory does not store such information and so can not remember how traumatic it must have been to be exposed to a "new planet". So we continue our journey with other changes despite our will, at first, and then the changes we introduce ourselves in our lives. It all starts with seemingly easy tasks we must learn such as how to crawl, take the first steps, the first drop, the first day of school. And so begins another abrupt change. We are wrapped in a completely new environment with people we have never seen and did not live together and suddenly we are "loose" in the hand of a teacher we call "miss/mrs" and surrounded by colleagues with the same fears and expectations as ourselves. Then we grow through puberty, adolescence and all stages until we finally are adults. The vastly dreamed desire arrives, but one day we will want to return to our youth days and won't be able because the physical and biological laws do not allow, and with the adult life there comes a thing called WORK. And, oh yes, it begins our greatest pilgrimage that most often goes to the end of our days on this earthly journey. The work may be the largest and most enriching experience of being human. At work, we make friends and enemies, evolve and involve, go up and down "stairs", we will smile and we will also cry, sometimes have fears and sometimes certainties, we are going to be wronged and we will also have the opportunity to do justice, to judge and be judged, we may be remissive but we can also be honest. Long story short, the work environment takes more than 50% of our daily lives, the rest being tired when you get home and the other spent trying to sleep (if problems from work allow so). We live more at work than with our own family. But the work is something necessary, enriching, engaging, fascinating, contagious, as long as we find the right profession, on the contrary it becomes a torment and transforms our lives into chaos. And the choice or driving for the best path to success at work goes through a word that is taking the market; resilience. Which is nothing more than the old word adapt, be flexible, finding a wat. Adapting and making changes might turn your path smoother and may take you faster to the top. The world changes, seasons change, needs change, priorities change, so why is it so difficult for us "people" to see and realize that change is necessary? Therefore, do not waste time, rebrand yourself and follow the path that has to be followed, that sometimes may not be the way that our hearts would guide us, but in time you will discover that the heart will hardly be used in the corporate world, the reason is more prudent and more manly in the capitalist world. Be a "chameleon". Let the heart to dose your relationship with your family and extra curricular activities. Think about it! Maybe your life becomes more comfortable. Not always what we think is right is really right. There is always a point of view contrary to yours from someone elese. Be empathetic, patient and finally be RESILIENT. Be Happy!
