To engage with students through vehicles they commonly use To deliver content not yet available in textbooks To push breaking topics to students To drive students to websites, publications and influencers they might not be aware of

News aggregators (e.g., CPA Letter Daily, Accounting Today) Regulators (e.g., SEC, PCAOB, FASB, IASB) Influencers (e.g., Big 4, SASB) Publications (e.g., J of A, Compliance Week) People/organizations you follow

How often do you communicate with students?
Often enough to keep students engaged, but not annoyed Twitter – no more than 1 or 2 tweets per day, on average LinkedIn – when you “publish” Keep it professional, but interesting

What’s the time commitment?
It is a commitment Once you start, you have to keep your content ongoing and updated An hour a day?

How do you get students engaged?
Options: Require student interaction with content (e.g., test/quiz questions) Extra credit for interaction (e.g., exam/quiz questions) Tell them they will be better informed than their peers – think job interviews
