APO Mission Our mission is to provide education to the general public and services to persons with HIV infection, their familes, and significant others in a confidential, caring environment.

History of APO APO is a non-profit organization serving Southwest Missouri since August of 1985 Started with all volunteers with a staff in the single numbers Currently employs 56 individuals ranging from case managers to nurses to physicians.

Service Area Include the following counties in Missouri:
Barry, Barton, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Dent, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, McDonald, Pulaski, St Clair, Shannon, Stone, Taney, Texas, Webster, Wright, and Vernon. Other counties in Missouri will have their own HIV service agencies-often within their Health Departments.

Speaker's bureau Advocacy Emotional support/counseling Financial assistance Medication cost assistance Transportation Clinic services: HEP C testing and treatment HIV specialty care HIV primary care PreP consultation Annual immunizations Genotyping CD4 and viral load testing Well women exams Dental services-referred out

Case management Case managers assist the HIV infected person.
Provide medical referrals Assist in getting prescriptions filled Education on HIV and AIDS Referrals for the following assistance: counseling, dental, housing, etc. (as needed)
