Outlining the deliverable of 2025 Targets process
UNAIDS 2019 Outlining the deliverable of 2025 Targets process 2025 target setting, resource needs and impact estimation
2
Background UNAIDS has produced projections of resource needs (and impact) in the past: 2001 (“war chest” leading to establishment of Global Fund) 2006 (“Universal Access”) 2011 (“Investment Framework”) 2016 (“Fast-Track”) Over time, focus has shifted from “resource needs” to “targets, resource needs and impact” (e.g. Fast- Track modelling).

5
Global HIV epidemic – incidence and mortality since 2010
- 16% New infections annually relative to 2010 2018 Globally 37.9 million People living with HIV - 33% Deaths annually relative to 2010 Source: UNAIDS/WHO estimates

Objectives of the 2025 target setting, 2020-2030 resource needs and impact estimation
Three interrelated areas of work: Targets (focused on 2025), resource needs and impact through 2030. New tools, molecules, regimens, implementation models, costs, effectiveness data Incorporate transition metrics Synergies with other health services, through 2030: costs and multi-disease impact Targets and impact of future technologies (e.g. long acting, broadly neutralizing antibodies, vaccines) through 2050
