Fibers & Visualization
Each tile now has four holes in which the fibers sit Tile Fiber 45 45 view Top down view of single tile w/o fibers with wireframe on Tile Fiber Top down view Configurable Parameters: hole size gab between fiber and quartz distance of hole from tile back gap has been set to 0.0mm Visualization can be broken. Wireframe fails for g4subtractsolid in this case. Use “surface” to visualize geometry.

Foil between Fibers Configurable Parameters: foil thickness
foil thickness has been set to 0.016mm

Light Production/Transport 1
A new physics list which allows one to turn on/off optical physics has been implemented A materials class has been created giving the necessary optical properties to materials (quartz, aluminum, polyethylene, PMMA) Air puck created at top of each fiber and set as sensitive detector. Will be used to record all photons coming up from fiber.

Light Production/Transport 2
*all shown tracks are optical photons Case/Foil Removed Case Removed Full Assembly (no top/bot) Light is currently not being transported up the fibers. This issue is being investigated.

Parallelization In order to make use of these changes to the MC, running multiple instances on a cluster will be required. A cluster is available to UIUC users which uses the HTCondor software framework. Work is being done to implement this functionality.
