Mary Trinchero The matriarch of the family Born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania in 1911 Raised in a convent in Italy and returned to the U.S. in 1932 as a young woman worked in a sweater shop in New York before marrying Mario who bartended at a fancy establishment (Barbizon Plaza and Waldorf Astoria) Brought her three children, Bob, Vera and Roger, across country via train to St. Helena, CA to meet her husband

Mary’s Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley
Named to honor Mario’s wife, Mary’s was the very first vineyard purchased by the Trinchero family in 1980, and holds significant sentimental value. Warm-climate, single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from the family’s 14 acre estate in Calistoga 100% stainless-steel fermented and aged Citrus, tropical character, clean and refreshing

Mario Trinchero Patriarch of the family Born in Italy in 1899 and immigrated to New York with his family in the early 1920s At age 49, Mario moved out to St. Helena in 1948 after purchasing the Sutter Home Winery Only a handful of wineries operated in the wake of Prohibition, a large draw for the Italian American immigrant Had the ambition, determination and foresight to see just what his family could make of their humble, rugged beginnings

Mary’s Single Vineyard Semillon
Made in the Vin Santo style, Semillon grapes are picked at optimum ripeness, typically around 22.5˚ Brix. Grapes are placed on drying racks in a warm, well ventilated area, thus encouraging the moisture in the grape to evaporate. Once the wine reaches 33˚ Brix it is pressed, then fermented and aged in small, 30 gallon French oak barrels, about 50% new. Documentation of the “passito” method in which Vin Santo is created can be traced back to 800 BC. Mary’s Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc
Named to honor Mario’s wife, Mary’s was the very first vineyard purchased by the Trinchero family in 1980, and holds significant sentimental value. “Mary’s Vineyard is a warm site to grow aromatic white wines and I am consistently pleased with the balance of ripe tropical fruit and bright acidity in the grapes from this vineyard. This is unmistakably Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of Bartlett pear, apricot, citrus, and lemon blossom with great minerality. This wine is boasting with beautiful complexity, a silky, oily texture with mouth-filling citrus and mineral flavors.
