An introduction to Year 13 and the post-18 application process

4 Personal Tutor For added support we can assign your son a personal tutor. Meet once a week. Discuss and track work, study and progression. Was very beneficial for a number of students last year.

5 BTEC Courses For your information All assignments will continue to contribute towards the final qualification.

8 Post-18: Overview of options
Further Education UCAS: university applications On-island: Highlands University Law Society Jersey International Business School Off-Island, America, Europe Careers Apprenticeship Application after results Qualified Profession Gap Year

9 UCAS application Oxbridge, Dentistry and Medicine deadline: October 15th and only 4 universities on your application All other course: January 15th Internal Deadline by November 29th UCAS finished. Up to 5 courses After receiving your initial offers, then select Firm and Insurance

10 Post-18 application: internal deadlines
Your son will meet with his tutor to discuss personal statement, CV and application PSHE/Careers lessons: one per week until October Half Term All applications and Personal Statements checked by tutors at least twice and supported by Mr Moretta and Miss Hunt

11 More than one Post-18 application
Many students who are uncertain or wish to keep their options open, complete more than one application. For example: Highlands and UCAS; Jersey International Business School and finance career

12 Career /Enrichment We have already questioned boys who do not want to go to University about possible career considerations. We hope to try and facilitate relationships and opportunities for your son to shadow business’s in industries he may be interested in. If not he may decided to complete some vocational work which maybe beneficial for his CV.
