The Effects of AB 1731 – Low Season
Looking at only the beach areas of Mission Beach and Bay, Pacific Beach, and La Jolla, AB 1731 would result in a massive void of visitor accommodations along our coast. Low season - (September - May) - the nightly void of visitor accommodations would be 3,062 rooms per night. At an average of 2 visitors per room, this means we would be restricting access to: 6,124 visitors per night 42,868 visitors per week 171,472 visitors per month

The Effects of AB 1731 – High Season
High season (June - August) - the nightly void of visitor accommodations would be 4,934 rooms per night. At an average of 2 visitors per room, this means we would be restricting access to: 9,868 visitors per night 69,076 visitors per week 276,304 visitors per month In total, AB 1731 would result in restricting access to more than 2,541,600 visitors annually to our beaches and bays in just the City of San Diego.

The Effects of AB 1731 AB 1731 is an overreach by the State, infringing on the rights of cities to create meaningful regulations that work for them AB 1731 limits access to our beach communities for visitors looking for low-cost accommodations AB 1731 will harm neighborhood businesses who rely on foot traffic created as a results of travelers staying in STRs Please help keep our beaches and bays open to everyone by OPPOSING AB 1731
