1 PENNSYLVANIA COLLEGE SYSTEMS

2 How many colleges are there in the United States?
QUESTION How many colleges are there in the United States?

3 Overview In the United States, there are over 4,000 college options. Sorting all of those can be a big task. Today we will look at a way to sort these colleges much more easily.

4 First, all colleges can be classified as either PRIVATE or PUBLIC.
Refresher: Public means: Private means: PUBLIC PRIVATE

5 Now that we can make that distinction, we can separate Private and Public colleges into further categories. We will be looking specifically at colleges in Pennsylvania. So that narrows our list from over 4,000 to about 260. Did you know that Pennsylvania is the third state with most colleges in the United States? (Second place: New York, First place: California) TO

6 Pennsylvania has four public systems
