Consent When you give a person permission to do something.

Touching each other Your body belongs to you, your private parts belong to you. No one should ever touch you without your consent.

Therefore consent must be given without being pressured and can be taken back. Consent cannot be given if someone is drunk or under the influence of drugs.

Sexual Harassment The law says it’s sexual harassment if the behaviour: violates your dignity, or makes you feel humiliated.

If you touch someone without their consent, depending on the circumstances, you might be accused of sexual harassment. So do not put yourself in that situation.

Excuses No one should touch you without your permission, there are no excuses, you cannot say: “it’s just boys these days” or “ it’s just girls having fun”

In school We have a no touch policy in school – therefore no one should be touching anyone inappropriately.

If you see it - report it! We need to make sure everyone feels happy and safe in school, if someone touches you or another person inappropriately – you must report it – otherwise it becomes accepted behaviour.

Consent

In Summary Do not allow anyone to touch you without your consent, if they do report it. Do not ever touch anyone without consent, if they have not given you permission to touch them, you may find yourself in a lot of trouble, both in school and possibly with the police.
