38 TV Changed America Everyone had TV from 10% to 90% in 10 years
Everyone saw the same events and laughed at the same shows: Common Culture! Most of the children’s programs featured crime and violence. TV became the babysitter. Families ate dinner in front of the TV (dissolved the family structure) Changed Campaigning (could see the candidate) Candidates were now right in the living room instead of only being a voice on the radio or having to travel to a city to campaign.
