1 Term 2 Homework - Sounds All words are made up of sounds. There are over 40 sounds in the English language, but only 26 letters are used to represent these sounds. These homework tasks are designed to improve your ability to identify sounds that are created through letter combinations called Phonograms. Each week you need to investigate the sound allocated and write down as many words that you can think of that include the sound. Your investigation must be presented in your homework book, using any of the below options: Create a poster with your sound and words displayed, underline the sound pattern. Eg. <ng> Anger Create a list of your words, underline the sound pattern. Eg. <ng> Anger AND create a sentence that accurately uses two or more of your words and underline the sound pattern. (You may use technology, as long as you print your work and glue it into your homework book). Please note these activities are designed to consolidate skills, as we prepare to explore more complex spelling and grammar patterns.
