Reading in year one . The children will take part in individual reading once a week. As their reading progresses we will introduce small group guided reading. When your child’s books need to be changed please leave the folder in the box outside the classroom, there is no set day for reading. Please ensure that your child is able to read the books fluently before returning them. We suggest that they read the same book a number of times before they are returned (no more than once a week at the moment please!). Please ensure that you sign the reading record so we know your child has read with you at home. Later in the term we will introduce the Lending library. The children will have opportunities to choose books from our school library that you can share at home. Mystery reader: Every Thursday we host a mystery reader into our classroom. If you are interested please speak to your class teacher. Alexandra Primary School
