General reminders School starts at 8.45 – morning task each day
P.E will be on Mondays and Fridays (Rugby Tots). Trainers for Daily Mile. NO jewellery – must be able to remove earrings themselves. Uniform – label jumpers/cardigans please. No bows, boots or trainers. No pencil cases

Clubs Club letter will be sent out soon!
Back gate will be locked for security at the end of the normal school day. Please walk around and pick up children from the allocated location given for each club. 4pm finish for Monday clubs.

Homework Set on Wednesday and due the following Monday.
30 minutes of Maths and English every week. Should be reasonably independent. Mathletics. Topic grid to choose from (every half term).

Spellings Government set list of words to learn in Y2 See additional sheet for more information and guidance on supporting your child Spellings may be repeated to secure tricky words Times tables All children in Year 2 will learn their 2, 5’s and 10 tables They will be tested on these regularly

Reading Please read as regularly as possible with your child, children should be reading daily at home Accelerated Reader – Spring term STAR reading test at the start of each half term 3 100% scores and children will move up a book level Not to quiz on computer at home but encouraged to be verbally quizzed by an adult Parent reader rota

KS1 SATs SATS week will be sometime in May.
Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG) Reading Paper 1 (short text to read with questions to answer) Reading Paper 2 (longer text in a separate booklet and then an answer booklet) Maths Paper 1 (arithmetic) Maths Paper 2 (reasoning) Score added together

Learning isn’t just about what happens in school!
What can you do? The importance of parents, carers, teachers and children working together is invaluable, especially at this crucial time! Read with your child regularly. Encourage children to complete home learning and always learn basic skills. Get your child to school on time and regularly. Remind children about learning behaviours. Learning isn’t just about what happens in school!
