College Now- take classes at your high school for college credit.
Quick Step- Take college classes with JCCC faculty on JCCC’s campus, online or an outreach location. Career Pathways- HS courses that might be applied to a JCCC degree. AP courses- an altogether different animal. A test that is taken in May for possible college credit depending on score. Visit jccc.edu for minimum scores. Types of courses

Avoiding the trap of everything transfers (but nothing transfers)

Why complete an Associate’s Degree?
More likely to complete a Bachelor’s (Kansas is #1 in the Nation for completion of transfer students)* Cost savings benefit Support and transition services from high school General Education block transfer and completion (KU goal 1 through 3 and MO core 42) *Community College Research Center

Associate’s Degree- 60 credit hour degree consisting of 30 credit hours of general education requirements and 30 hours of electives General Education requirements- A group of courses in various areas of arts and sciences that must be satisfied to graduate. Free Electives/General Electives- Free for all, count toward credit hour total but not major requirement. Equivalent courses- learning outcomes for two courses are the same or content is such that one course counts for same course at a different institution. KBOR- Kansas Board of Regents- oversees all higher education in Kansas. KCOG alignment- courses that will transfer system wide in Kansas as equivalent. Transfer Terminology
