Today’s tips… Move the water: if anything separates it self… you can take it out Order matters! Really think it through and try different orders The water you get is the only water you get - Pour water back and forth to rinse if needed If there is a tiny amount of sand when you distill, that is okay Care about your amounts and temperature when you distill

Collect the substances on a paper towel
Graduated cylinder used only for pure water Collect the substances on a paper towel Rice Salt (soluble) This can be a sample of the salt BB’s Sand (insoluble) Plastic Paper

Put waste in proper beaker
Put waste back into original beaker. Place beaker back in tray where you got it Put waste in proper beaker

Clean up Persons 1 & 2 dishes and equipment
Persons 3 & 4 Waste, table and floor Put all parts of the mixture back in the beaker and return to center table Clean up
