2 Session 1: Challenge Create a work of art that shows an imagined version of a place in the future that has changed over time. This can be a literal place (such as New York City, your school, or your bedroom) or a metaphorical place (such as your state of mind or emotions).

9 Challenge: Create a work of art that shows an imagined version of a place in the future that has changed over time.

10 Agenda Sketch, at minimum, 7 different versions of a place in the future. REMEMBER, this can be a literal place (such as New York City, your school, or your bedroom) or a metaphorical place (such as your state of mind or emotions). After sketching 7, select the one you think is best. Write out in your sketchbook, in at least 3 sentences, why you want to choose that particular sketch to use for your final artwork. (Note if you chose to do a utopia, dystopia, or merely an imagined place.)

11 Reflection Have you completed your sketching ideas and selected the one you’d like to create? Did your group activity help you to develop ideas?

Practice the techniques in your sketchbook for 5 minutes. Begin your watercolor. REMEMBER, begin light. You only get one sheet of paper, so make it count.

21 Agenda Sharpie Demonstration.
Practice the techniques in your sketchbook for 5 minutes. If you finished your watercolor last class: Begin to add sharpie. If you have NOT finished your watercolor, finish it. Dry your paint with a hairdryer and once it’s completely dry, then begin to add sharpie.

26 Written Reflection Expectations
IN YOUR SKETCHBOOKS, write a description of your imagined future: What is happening in your future? How did this future come to be? Is it utopian, dystopian, or just a general future? Answer the following questions about the assignment: Were you challenged by the materials? How so? Did you like or dislike the subject? Why? What are 3 new vocabulary terms that you learned?
