1 Eukaryotic cells form chromosomes before cell division
Gene- segment of DNA that codes for a protein or RNA molecule. Chromosome- DNA tightly coils up around proteins when preparing for cell division. Chromatids- exact copies of DNA that make up each chromosome Centromere- the two chromatids of a chromosome are attached here. 1 strand of DNA can be up to 5 feet long!
