Check your credit check letter and Studentvue. Check your credits to be sure they’re accurate. Write your senior interview date and time in your planner. You should receive a green pass from your first hour teacher the day of your senior interview. Be on time and don’t forget! Fill out your meeting exit ticket Everyone has a letter, transcript, packet, and green release.

Send your transcript through Parchment Turn in your green Release of Information – due Sept 27 at the latest. Your transcript will NOT be sent until you turn this in to Mrs. Garr Send your ACT/SAT score directly to the college you are applying to. Parchment Mistakes Missing ID and No release Common App number and cost ($2.55) Send scores

7 Apply on-line at the college’s website and complete before November 1st. Proof read for errors, stay organized, consider a new address, have a back-up plan (top 3 schools). Clean up social media and any public accounts Save passwords and user ID’s

10 Requesting a Transcript
Start with profile – step by step – Order- Deliver Select “current transcript” when sending initial transcript to college. Select “next grading period” when sending 7th semester grades or final transcript. Enter numerical part of your student id “Latest year attended” is your year of graduation – 2020 Common Application – merge with Parchment if applying to U of M and a few other schools. Start common app – get ID and put in Parchment to connect the two NCAA – register with NCAA and connect the ID with parchment Parchment Mistakes Missing ID and No release Common App number and cost ($2.55)

12 How do I know if I use common app?
Some schools have both options --the university application or the common app. Some only use common app Recommended to use university app when possible unless you are already having to use the common app. EX- GVSU and MSU EX- UM and MSU

16 Letters of Recommendation for Common Application
You will be asked to provide approximately 1-2 teacher addresses for an online teacher evaluation and recommendation. In addition, you will need to provide your counselor's address for an online Secondary School Report and for colleges that require a counselor recommendation. Please provide them with a "Senior Profile for Letter of Recommendation". Don’t wait until the last step to invite your teachers and counselor. They can get started on their portion while you are working on yours.

Pick Recommenders Wisely Give them a copy of your resume Provide an ample time for them to complete Provide stamped envelope or if using common app, invite them using . 31 . NCAA Eligibility for D1 or D2 College Sport
If you plan to participate in Division I or II sports in college you must register and send your ACT or SAT scores to the NCAA Clearinghouse; code 9999. Also it is very important make sure that your courses meet academic eligibility requirements; (For example, Intro to films is NOT an approved English course and students should be taking another approved English course such as Myths, Strange/Mysterious, Poetry, and Exploring Lit). NCAA has very strict eligibility rules and expectations.

32 NCAA – College Athletics YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
DIVISION I 16 Core-Course Rule 16 Core Courses: 4 years of English. 3 years of mathematics (Algebra I or higher). 2 years of natural/physical science (1 year of lab if offered by high school). 1 year of additional English, mathematics or natural/physical science. 2 years of social science. 4 years of additional courses (from any area above, foreign language or nondoctrinal religion/philosophy). PLEASE NOTE: Beginning August 1, 2016, students must have a 2.30 and 75 ACT summative score to be eligible. Please check the Eligibility Center for your sliding scale requirements. 35 Colleges Responses to College Applications
1. Accept: You will receive info on housing, orientation, and financial aid. 2. Defer: They will ask the student to provide more information. 1st semester grades, updated test scores, etc. 3. Wait list: Students just have to wait. They are still considering your application, but must hear from the admitted students first before they may offer you admissions. Ask if funds will be available if you're accepted. 4. Deny: Cannot offer you admissions. (You could check on Jan-term admissions or a summer start.)

1. Record your logins/passwords for each online application in one place. 2. Double/triple check the information you supplied before submitting your online application. 3. Create professional sounding addresses for your college applications. Clean up social media if necessary, admission reps may 'google' you. 4. Get GREAT Grades, so you will not be in any danger of graduation AND so your college admission is not withdrawn!!!!! Do you want this letter?

39 Important details if your senior schedule changes after you apply
Your senior schedule is included on the transcript. If you must make a change in your schedule once you have sent your initial transcripts to the colleges , you MUST contact each college admission office to update them with your change.
