2 What is our EIN and what do we use it for?
The EIN is a unique Federal number assigned to each entity very much like a social security number is assigned to each individual. It is used to: open bank accounts, obtain Sales Tax Exemption Certificates, produce IRS Form 1099 MISC and many other business transactions.

3 What is our EIN and what do we use it for? cont.
If your church/school has a bank account, then you should already have an EIN, if you do not know what your EIN is, then start by contacting your bank, then contact the Florida Conference Association (FCA) call the IRS

4 What is our EIN and what do we use it for? cont.
If, after exhausting the above steps, contact FCA and we will help you obtain an EIN. If the EIN you have ends with either or 3036, please contact FCA as you “may” be using the Florida Conference Association’s or General Conference’s EIN, AND THIS IS NOT ALLOWED!

5 What is our Sales Tax Exemption Number?
Present certificate to your vendor so that the sales tax can be waived. If you do not have or can not find your certificate, contact the FCA Do not share your number with another entity

6 Bank Accounts Many churches have had their bank accounts frozen or closed because of the bank’s inability to properly identify the entity. We are working with legal counsel to attempt to determine the best way to resolve these increasing issues.

7 Bank Accounts When opening a bank account, make sure that they set your entity up in their system as an Unincorporated Association that is owned by the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
