Welcome Parents! Ms. Eisenhart’s 1st Grade Class Rm: 8

School Hours Before Care: 7:00 am – 8:15 am (Must register by August 10, 2019 in the main office in order to attend before care on the first day of school.) Students not enrolled in before care can enter school at 7:50am for breakfast. The front double doors will open at 8:00 am for the students to enter the building and students will report to the cafeteria. At 8:15am, the teacher will pick up the students from the cafeteria. Dismissal is at 3:00pm Late Pick up begins at 3:15. If late, a fee of $15 will be charged per day. After Care 3:00pm – 6:30pm (Must register by August 10, 2019 in the main office in order to attend ASC care on the first day of school.) If your child has an older sibling in 3rd-5th grade they will be picked up by the siblings and taken to their dismissal area. Any Middle/High sibling interested in picking up MUST complete the Sibling(s) Authorization form must be complete.

Parent Volunteer Forms
*Available on the school website Volunteers clearance MUST be completed EVERY school year. Parent Portal Access Instructions *Instructions to register are on the school website. Absences and Tardies Make sure your child is in class on time on a daily Basis. Students need to be in their seats by 8:30am. Make sure when your child is absent, you send a note to excuse his/her absence. Notes must be sent within the 3 days of the child's absence. 5 consecutive absences require a doctors note to be considered excused. Students with an unexcused absence will not be allowed to make up work.

Important Information
On the first two days of school, parents may walk their child to the classroom. In order to pick up your child at dismissal, you MUST bring the aqua decal with you. This also applies for rainy day dismissal. Students will be provided with a student ID, if lost or broken parents must purchase a new one immediately for $15.

Curriculum: Common Core
Reading/Writing Students retell stories, including key details, understanding the moral/lesson of the story. Students ask and answer questions about key details in the text. Character/Setting/Events Students use illustrations and details in a text to describe key ideas. Students name a topic and supply facts about the topic. Students provide some sense of closure. Spelling/High-Frequency Words/Vocabulary Reading/Language Arts interactive notebook Weekly Assessments (starting January, students will be responsible for reading the stories on their own.

Home Learning: Homework will be given on a daily basis.
Students are responsible for copying their homework in their IMATER Agenda on a daily basis. Parents must check agenda daily. Students NEED to practice Spelling/Sight/Vocabulary Words on a DAILY basis! i-Ready: Students will be required to complete 45 minutes of reading and math weekly. WILL BE GRADED

Behavior Policies Behavior Chart Reward System Consequences
Unacceptable behavior will result in loss of privileges (field trips, class parties, recess time, etc.) Check your child’s agenda daily for any teacher notes sent home. There will be NO tolerance for explicit language.

Dress Code for cold days:
*Students must wear a SOLID NAVY blue sweater Students may wear a long sleeve shirt that matches the color of the uniform shirt that they are wearing that day. Ex: white long sleeve shirt with white uniform shirt Sweaters MUST be solid, navy blue *Students are NOT allowed to wear boots or Uggs on cold days, ONLY on Fridays, for Jean Day.

School Spirit Shirts are MANDATORY for ALL students and chaperones attending school field trips! First grade uses the Aqua colored shirt. Parent shirts are Navy Blue All shirts are sold in the main office. Shirts are available for purchase for $10.
