Have you ever felt as if you tried really hard with a piece of work but you got a low grade?
That might be because you were trying really hard at the part that was not really important. Perhaps the important part was the content and you worked really hard at the presentation.
Have you ever felt like improving your lesson concentration or effort but are not sure where to start? Learning how to give yourself an honest self-assessment grade is an important part of discovering the areas that you can improve on.
After all, who really knows how hard you have tried with task or the criteria?

3. Review and evaluating your work
You will be asked to review and evaluate your work (no cheating – you have to be honest as you have to prove where you have matched the criteria.)
You will also be asked to peer edit and mark – this gives you a chance to work collaboratively with someone in your class. You will look at their work and make a comment; they will also do the same to your work. This gives you both a chance to see how other people work and how they approach a task – this will help you in your work as well because you will see different ways of doing the same work.
Assessment; target setting, marking, improving; are all part of a team effort and all part of becoming an independent learner, not just for school but also for the rest of your life.

Use this chart to assess your work. You need to be honest about your work, attitude and what you feel you have achieved. Give your self a mark for how well you have followed instructions, class rules work that you have done and the contribution that you have made to class and group work.
