19 Internet and Social Media
Use internet access as a reward Take mobile phones/tablets and any other distractions away from your daughter whilst she is completing homework/revision Ensure that she is not distracted by social media sites whilst studying Be aware of what social media sites she is using Have access to her social media accounts Ensure devices are not in your daughter’s room at bedtime.

20 90% attendance = ½ day missed every week!!
Absent half a day every week

21 90% attendance over 5 years of secondary school….
½ a school year missed!

22 The greater the attendance the greater the achievement.
What impact might this have? Research suggests that 17 missed school days a year = 1 GCSE grade DROP in achievement. (DfES) The greater the attendance the greater the achievement.

23 Punctuality Pupils should be in school by 8:30am Pupils need to be lining up for lessons at 8:35am Late gate from at 8:35am Lessons BEGIN at 8:40am If a pupils is late by 15 minutes, she has missed more than a quarter of her lesson! Colleges ALWAYS ask for attendance and punctuality figures in references.
