Market entry and sizing for a medical technology company
The challenge Our client is a leading medical technology manufacturer keen to understand what possibilities for growth their business had in new markets. They wanted clarity as to which products and which new markets they should focus on. The solution We developed a model that to evaluate the incidences of specific diseases as well as their potential future occurrences. We combined this with demographic data including household income and healthcare expenditure. We conducted interviews with medical experts, health authority officials, major donors, insurance providers, executives of healthcare institutions and other relevant parties, to complement secondary analysis of patient flow’s and treatment models as well as regulatory changes. Finally we evaluated the opportunity for growth for specific product categories and matched this to a profile of potential buyers and their purchasing criteria. The result We were able to identify not only the country but the diseases and correlating products and buyers that they should target which enabled our client to establish which country would help them achieve long term and sustainable business growth.
