BIOMES AND HABITATS What adaptations would our football players need to perform well in each biome? Which animals live in each biome and how have they adapted to their “habitat”? Write down or draw your adaptations on your sheet for each of the biomes!

THE 2019 FOOTBALL WILD CUP Mutations are rare (only pick 3 per round)
Your player will get points for how well they are adapted to random events and other players in each round After 3 rounds, the player with the most points wins!

WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED? The basics of evolution and adaptation
That there are lots of myths about evolution How adaptations are suited for different habitats and interactions with other species Jobs in evolutionary biology and palaeontology

EVOLUTION MYTHS AND MISCONCEPTIONS
Evolution is… … the result of genetic mutations over time … a very well-supported *theory* Evolution is NOT… … something that happens to individuals … just about getting bigger or stronger … something that happens quickly In science, a theory is an explanation that has been derived from repeated and verifiable tests undertaken through use of the scientific method. Established theories are based on the best scientific knowledge of the time and must withstand rigorous scrutiny by other scientists. This is not the same as the common (vernacular) use of the word theory outside of science which could infer a guess or idea.
