* * The A3 SNIPPETS POSTER at top-centre is a green box with the Science Essence Statement from page 17 NZC. The second part of the sentence is new for this version of the NZC “…so that they can participate as critical, informed, and responsible citizens in a society in which science plays a significant role.” Like all learning areas, science also have a whakataukī, which is in the blue box centre-second-down Once you have had a chance to read this page, take the time to have a conversation about ideas and questions the poster raises for you. You could use some of the questions in the QUESTIONS TO PROMPT YOUR THINKING file in your conversations too.

Purpose of science education
Thinking about the A3 SNIPPETS POSTER and the conversations you had, and the thoughts that popped up in your mind….Complete the WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR ME template. This template uses an adaptation of the Concerns-Based Adoption Model (Khoboli & O’Toole, 2011). Please complete this template from your own point of view, not the group’s point of view. This kind of honest reflection helps us see our own practice. Whether or not you share this reflection with others is up to you. Also, whether or not you include this reflection as part of your appraisal documentation is up to you.
