Complete the Education Requirement
Before applying for the National Board Exam, the education requirement must be met: Complete a CFP Board-Registered Education Program Apply for Challenge Status Challenge candidates must complete the Financial Plan Development Course. (CFA, CPA, Licensed Attorney, PhD, CLU, & ChFC) Request a Transcript Review Must obtain bachelor's degree (or higher), or its equivalent, from an accredited college or university Education

Pass the CFP® Certification Examination
Computer-Based 6-hour exam; divided into two 3- hour sessions 170 multiple-choice questions; case studies plus item sets Administered three times a year in March, July, & November over an 8-day window in each month Exam administered at Prometric locations - over 265 locations nationwide Exam

Pass the CFP® Certification Examination
Exam Retake Limit The CFP® Certification Exam is a criterion referenced, pass or fail exam. Scores are based on a minimum standard established by the CFP® professionals in a formal process known as Standards Setting Individuals may attempt the exam a maximum of three times within a 2-year period and a lifetime maximum of five times Exam

Meet the Experience Requirement
Three years of qualifying full-time work experience or the equivalent of 2,000 hours part-time work per year OR Two years apprenticeship experience Effective September 1, 2012 4,000 Hour Pathway and must be documented with verification from the supervising CFP® professional CFP Board regulates what qualifies as experience. About the Program Structure Assessment
9 month part-time program, starting January 17th, 2020 Classes meet Fridays 5:30 P.M. to 9:45 P.M. Saturdays 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (On occasion, holidays or local events may prevent this accommodation.) Assessment Each course contains 10 quizzes (1 per unit), a case study quiz, and a final exam

About the Program 6 Courses
General Financial Planning, Principles, Professional Conduct, Regulation & Risk Management, Insurance, and Employee Benefits Planning Invest Planning Retirement Savings and Income Planning Tax Planning Estate Planning Financial Plan Development (Capstone) Note: The Final Exam(s) will be taken outside of class for the first course only! This is due to the consolidation of 2 courses. We want to ensure class time is spent on content and exam readiness.

Prior to class starting, complete all reading assignments Complete assigned homework problems Participate- you will get out of the program what you put into the program Study, study, study! 1-2 hours out of the classroom for every hour in class
