Schedules at MHS: 3 trimesters per year.
5 classes each trimester (+ Homeroom) ½ credit per class = 2.5 credits per trimester. 2 Trimesters = 1 credit course E.g. 1 trimester English 9A + 1 trimester of English 9B = 1 full credit… in 2 trimesters instead of 3.

Why Forecast? (Page 17*) Students’ choices help us decide what classes to offer. When you forecast, we create a spot in that class for you. (That’s why if you forecast for the class, you’ll have to take it.) This means….. put a great deal of thought into choosing your classes.

Elective Classes (starting page 30*)
Students choose 6 electives & 4 alternates. Spanish: not a graduation requirement, but is for 4-year university entrance. Spanish is challenging. Band and Chorale are 3 Trimester Courses. Only Band, Chorale, and PE electives are repeatable for credit.

College Credit in High School (Page 10-12)
College Credits are guaranteed to transfer to any Oregon Public University. Students can have almost 2 years of college done IN HIGH SCHOOL! $$$$$ Sign-up and fee information will be available. (See Curriculum Guide* for college credit courses available to freshman)

Homeroom Meets Monday –Thursday for 30 minutes.
Same Homeroom: all 4 years. Homeroom Grade: S/U grade & .25 credit per year. Focuses on: Senior Project, improving grades, study skills, team building, and community and school involvement. Tuesdays and Thursdays: students can go to their teachers for help in any class.
