Financial Aid When Will My Funds Disburse?

When Do Funds Disburse? The disbursement date is the date funds are released by the federal government or other agency and placed on your TouroOne account. The disbursement date is not the date that you will receive funds for living expenses. We’ll cover that in a moment.

When Do Funds Disburse? Funds generally disburse 10 days before the first official start date of each semester. This date will be delayed for weekends or holidays. Summer funds may not be disbursed before 6/1 of each year. Keep this in mind as you are budgeting spring funds Especially if you have no summer session and have funds disburse only for the fall Disbursement dates are on TouroOne.

When will you receive funds for living expenses?
If the funds disbursed to your TouroOne account in a semester/term exceed the charges for tuition and fees in that semester/term, you will have a credit balance The bursar’s office is required to refund federal aid credit balances for living expenses within 14 calendar days of the funds disbursing to your TouroOne account

What holds up a disbursement?
Any missing financial aid information. This can be verification information, citizenship or other items requested to information. You need to have completed your loan applications and entrance counseling. You need to have accepted your offered loans for the year. (You must review and accept/reduce/decline your loans each new award year.) Missing information is shown on TouroOne on the Financial Services page.

What holds up a disbursement?
You must be registered for at least 6 credits applicable toward your degree. Only at students with at least ½ time status are eligible for federal loans and federal loan repayment deferment. A balance on your TouroOne account will prevent you from registering for the next semester. Other holds from Admissions or from Student Health can also prevent you from registering. Holds will be placed only after requested information exceeding published deadlines. You can see any holds in TouroOne on the Registration tab.
