WHAT IS CALFRESH?
CALFRESH OUTREACH &
APPLICATION ASSISTANCE
CalFresh, also known as SNAP, is a nutrition assistance program that helps low-income individuals and families buy the food they need. CalFresh dollars help stretch a tight food budget and help many people afford to incorporate healthy foods like fruits and vegetables into their diets.
The CalFresh outreach grant provides outreach and application assistance to eligible students.
COLLEGE STUDENT
ELIGIBILITY
College students (between years old and enrolled in 6 or more units) must meet one of the following:
Working 20 hours a week or 80 hours a month
Approved for federal or state work study
Receiving Cal Grant A or B (not married, 25 or younger, household income of $50,000 or less)
A part of EOP or Renaissance Scholars
Exerting parental control over a dependent
HOW TO APPLY
Students can visit the Student Cupboard whenever open to find out if they qualify and submit their application.
Students can also complete the CalFresh Interest form on their Student Portal and our team will reach out to them.
