1 A Biblical Perspective of Work

2 Proverbs 24:3-4 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

3 Key Consideration: To build, establish, and fill a home requires wisdom, strength, and discipline.

4 In terms of building our homes in marriage-
The man...provides, lays down his life, loves, leads, labors, protects The woman...builds the home (prov 31), submits, honors, loves, helps

5 In terms of building our ministry homes-
2 Corinthians 5:1-10

6 In our marriages...In our ministries...In the midst of struggles…
Key Consideration: In our marriages...In our ministries...In the midst of struggles… We labor, we work, we build.

7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
Proverbs 24:5-7 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety. Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

8 In terms of building our ministry and building our lives
In terms of building our ministry and building our lives...there are stages

9 The Foundation 2 Timothy 3:14-15
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

10 The Fashioning 1 John 2:14b I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

11 The Function Psalm 119:24 Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors. Proverbs 24:6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war. 1 Timothy 1:18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare…

12 We get saved, we grow in strength, we grow in the word,
Key Consideration: We get saved, we grow in strength, we grow in the word, we go to war for the souls of men… and we struggle.

13 2 Corinthians 4:15-18 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

14 For a biblical perspective of our struggles,
Key Consideration: For a biblical perspective of our struggles, we must continually prioritize the bible.

15 Proverbs 24:10-12 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? And he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? And shall not he render to every man according to his works?

16 The obsession of our careers/neglecting of our responsibilities…
We are given the decision to press in and pursue the word of God and souls of men… OR The obsession of our careers/neglecting of our responsibilities…

17 Ephesians 6:5-8 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eye- service, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

18 Proverbs 24:13-14 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
