1 Information Session: One-year master of software engineering
Aug. 14, 2018

2 Wanted: More Software Engineers
Industry is asking…Schulich is responding In 2018, software engineering is one of the top 15 most in-demand jobs. (Source: Ranstad Canada) Qualified software engineers are being hired by Canadian employers as quickly as they become available. (Source: immigration.ca, June 18, 2018) There are qualified engineers and science graduates in a wide array of disciplines that need to be given the skills to pivot into the new economy. (Source: Deborah Yedlin, Calgary Herald, Jan. 19, 2018)

3 Wanted: More Software Engineers
“In Calgary we have a large number of highly qualified energy-sector engineers looking for work, at the same time as having difficulty finding enough people to fill the huge and growing need for highly qualified people with proven software-development capabilities. This program directly bridges the gap between the two and we look forward to engaging with graduates to find new employees in the future.” Jeff LaFrenz, President, VizworX Inc.

4 Wanted: More Software Engineers
"In my dozen years in the games and tech industries, we've never had enough qualified software engineers. We develop technology, but it's human innovation and problem solving that make us successful. Our industries are changing the world, but we need more people to do it. So, study software engineering and come join us! I also encourage bringing other skills - learn software engineering and chemistry, history, bioscience, dance, etc. - because we need people who can bring compute to new frontiers." Kaye Mason, Senior Software Engineer, Google Inc.

5 Wanted: More Software Engineers
“Arcurve is a leading provider of software services, with over 500 projects completed since 2006. We are constantly on the lookout for top talent to fuel our growth. We are excited by the MEng program because it focuses on professionals who have domain and industry experience, and we expect it to provide the self-motivated critical thinkers and problem solvers we need.” Mike Bauer, CTO and Co-Founder, Arcurve Inc.
