Sensitize children contact with the police, learning about the protective role of the police, introduction of police officer as their friends and supporters

Adopting a positive attitude to the problem of crime is not an exclusive problem of the police, but of the wider community.
Police officers at meetings with the parents distributed pamphlets "Together Against Drugs"

9. 6. CRIME PREVENTION COUNCIL
The Council was established with a view to finding appropriate solutuions for security and community problems which reduce the quality of life

Citizens can get expert and sound advice from police officers on different ways of self-protective behaviour and self-protection, in particular advice on tehnical and mehanical protection

11. 8. I UNDERSTAND YOU… The aim of the component;
Ensure that police officers who provide safety to all citizens and tourists can be at their disposal and provide bacis information about the City of Zagreb in English

12. 9. LEAFLETS „STAY SAFE WHILE ON VACATION”
Leaflet was produced in Croatian and English in cooperation with the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb
This leaflet was distributed through the offices of the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb, Zagreb hotels and police station

„SAFE HOME”
Leaflet contains advice and instructions for citizens of the City of Zagreb with a view to preventing burglaries into homes during the summer months
This leaflet was distributed to 230,000 households in the city of Zagreb with the utilities bill

14. 10. EDUCATIONAL-PREVENTIVE FILM
Production of an educational short film on harmful consequence of alcohol consumption
The film wil be used as part of the implementation of the components of this project, and also for other activities

The evaluation was conducted by the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Scineces, University of Zagreb

16. EVALUATION RESULTS
The majority of pupils ( 81 % ) stated that prevention programs carried out by the police influenced their decision not to try drugs.

17. C O N C L U S I O N S
Strong and lasting partnership has been established between the police, civil society organisations and relevant institutions, thus providing for long-term cooperation, and a sistematic and multi-sector approach to problem solving
The value of the project was recognised and six years after it started, it was implemented all around the Republic of Croatia
