The little boy looks so unhappy that we all feel sorry for him. The student had behaved so badly that he has dismissed from the class. subject + verb + so adjective/adverb + that + subject + verb

3 II Examples: The Smiths had so many children that they formed their own baseball team. I had so few job offers that it wasn’t difficult to select one. subject + verb + so + many/few + plural count noun + that + subject + verb

4 III Examples: He has invested so much money in the project that he cannot abandon it now. The grass received so little water that it turned brown in the heat. subject + verb + so + much/little + non count noun + that + subject + verb

5 IV Examples: It was such a hot day that we decided to stay indoors. (= It was so hot a day that we decided to stay indoors). It was such an interesting book that he couldn’t put it down. (= It was so interesting a book that he couldn’t put it down).
