3 X Window X Window System ♦ X Window System is an advanced, graphical computing and network environment, designed as a multi-user system. ♦ X is the foundation for the graphical user interface (GUI). ♦ Provides low-level mechanism for managing graphics display. ♦ Linux Provides two types of standard X Window systems. ► KDE ► GNOME
