Why, What and How to work with ECLAS: survey results Nuno Henriques | EDC: Catholic University of Portugal - Oporto Pan-European Working Group Meeting of European Documentation Centres The challenges for the EDCs work in the 21st century Main results (126 responses): Quite a significant number of the respondents would be interested in collaborating with the European Commission Central Library: 62 EDCs (49%) would be kind to share its database, academic research papers or repository with ECLAS.

In addition, technical difficulties were mentioned such as: If there were a handy technical solution I suppose the library´s directorate would agree to link to our local catalogue, in which the EDC collection is integrated; and more information is needed on the proposal and technical requirements for us to give an answer.

Finally, two EDCs said they would need more information: We would like to have some more information and details about ECLAS and how it works. This should be investigated further if 62 EDCs is a critical mass required for the EC to start such collaboration.
