1 First Quarter Book Project The Newsletter: This newsletter may be created using a computer program or created by hand. The newsletter should be one page (two-sided – 8.5 X 11) in length. Please think about design, layout, and aesthetic appeal. Have fun! Be creative! Requirement Sheet: When you turn in your newsletter final copy, please include this sheet. Newsletter Title: This title must be created in some way from the title of the book or the theme of the book. (5 points) Advertisements: Insert at least two advertisements for people, places, and/or other items from your book. (20 points/10 each) The following are suggestions: Person – advertise a service that a person is offering Place – advertise a place for travel or a piece of real estate that is for sale Thing – advertise an item that is for sale or for rent News Story (1): The newsletter must include a news story (narrative) about the most important (your opinion) event in the book. The writing should easily, yet subtly convey to the reader why it is the most important event. (15 points) News Story (2): The newsletter must include a news story (narrative) about the resolution of the book. Be sure to identify what happened to the characters and how/why the conflict ended. (15 points) Obituary: The newsletter must include at least one obituary about a character in the book. Be sure to look at actual examples, so that yours is accurate. (10 points) Vital Information: Be sure to insert the book title (5 points), authors name (5 points), and your name (5 points) on the newsletter in a location of your choice. I suggest that you include them in some creative way rather than just adding them on at the end. Writing this information on when you turn it in will earn you no credit.
