Britain was able to borrow or lease U.S. ships, arms, supplies, & food to help in its war effort against Germany.

The surprise attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese on December 7, 1941, brought the United States into the war.

6 What roles did the Tuskeegee Airmen and women play in World War II?
Tuskeegee Airmen –Black aviators trained at Tuskeegee Institute in Alabama. They escorted bombers on missions over Europe. Women served in all branches of the military. At home, they worked in factories, as nurses, journalists, mechanics, and other jobs held by men who were serving in the military.

7 The Holocaust As the Nazi party gained power in Germany, it began viewing minorities, particularly Jews, as inferior. It blamed Jews for Germany’s problems. Eventually the Nazis began programs to eliminate all Jewish people by killing them.

11 Georgia Facilities Bell Aircraft Corporation was a plant located in Marietta tat produced B-29 bombers, America’s largest military plane, during the war. Savannah & Brunswick shipyards produced Liberty ships that carried large cargo items & military supplies to Europe.
