General Teaching Strategies General L.O.Specific L.O. Use audio aids to allow students to listen to the final consonant sounds. Teacher will ask the students to repeat the words after him/her. http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=Wsv4TWhuuXY Use visual aids (e.g. flash cards with final consonants highlighted –s, -z -t,-d) Games (E.g. Final consonant Bingo) Students will be able to recognize final consonant sounds. Students should be able imitate and pronounce the consonants correctly. Students will be able to respond to the visual stimuli. Students will be able to complete the game successfully and correctly. Students will be able to recognize and differentiate the different final consonants sounds, more specifically /s, z, t, d/ Students will be able to make better linkages between the sounds and pictorial representations, hence enhancing their memory retention Students will be motivated to recognize final consonant sounds through positive reinforcement.

Recommendations A 1-term(10 weeks) Phonics course for the MA/LA students. Initiate a Reading Competition.
